Speaker guidelines

What a good talk looks like here.

Length. A standard talk is 20 minutes plus 5 minutes of questions. A lightning talk is 10 minutes. A demo is 5 minutes. The host keeps time.

Show real work. Something in production, or a serious attempt that failed. Say what it cost, what broke, and what you would do again.

Code on screen. Prompts, evals, traces, architecture diagrams. Font size 18 or larger. Dark theme reads best in the room.

No pitches. You can name your company and your product. A talk that exists to sell is declined.

One takeaway. End with the one thing the room can try on Monday.

Prep. First-time speakers get a 30-minute prep call with an organizer the week before. Send slides two days ahead so we can test the projector.

Recording. Talks are recorded and posted within two weeks. Tell us before the talk if you do not want yours recorded.

Conduct. Speakers agree to the code of conduct. Questions to brad.risse@devobsessed.com.
